New energy infrastructure

Turning waste into energy and biofuels across seven markets in Europe, the UK and North America – with emerging opportunities in Asia and the Middle East.

Our gasification projects

EQTEC technology is at the heart of leading-edge, waste-to-energy and biofuels plants which convert waste into clean energy, hydrogen, biofuels, SNG and biochar from four sources:

Plant & agriculture biomass

Current mission: Resolving considerable waste from regional and local, community co-operative agriculture and food farming and production, including the particular challenge of olive pomace.

Forestry wood biomass

Current mission: Transformation of wood biomass in California, where dead trees constitute a significant fire risk, and where state policy is to use such waste to generate power for 100s of millions of homes. Biochar is also produced for natural soil fertilisation and carbon capture purposes.

Municipal solid waste (MSW)

Current mission: Building the
UK’s first three commercially
successful Advanced
Gasification plants. Legislation create opportunity for sustainable conversion of RDF and critical diversion of waste from incineration and landfill.

Industrial waste

Current mission: Transforming challenging materials including contaminated plastics, manufacturing or industrial wood waste into syngas for use as electricity, heat and biofuels. Decarbonising industrial operations is a critical global challenge in the coming years.

Currently, our in-progress pipeline includes 17 projects, in various stages of construction and development, which will be commissioned in the immediate few years.

Together, the energy and waste sectors contribute 76% of global greenhouse gases

The decarbonisation of these sectors can have a large contributory impact to drive to Net Zero by 2050 (and have bite of a 98tr opportunity - the value of the addressable market in the next 30 years)
