EQTEC plc welcomed as inaugural member of Active Net Zero™ Universe

5 July 2021

A group of around 140 European listed clean energy companies, that are actively enabling the transition to a net zero carbon world, has been created as the ‘Active Net Zero™ Clean Energy Universe’, and EQTEC is delighted to be recognised as one of the group.

The initiative has been set up by clean energy specialist, Longspur Capital and corporate advisor, Radnor Capital Partners, with businesses selected using the proprietary ‘Active Net Zero™’ methodology. The methodology creates a research index for listed European companies, with a variety of specialisms and market caps, that have passed the Active Net Zero™ eligibility criteria. These companies are now evaluated in a systematic, transparent and repeatable framework, against their performance and capability in enabling a net zero energy transition.

The ambition is for the Active Net Zero™ methodology to become the standard by which the progress of the global net zero transition will be measured. Eligibility criteria for inclusion in the Active Net Zero™ Clean Energy Universe is externally defined using the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities, selected activities on the pathways set out by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in its Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C and the International Energy Association (IEA) Roadmap to Net Zero report.
