New paper proves potential of gasification to scale-up and support Net Zero by 2050

19 November 2021

The European Biogas Association (EBA), of which EQTEC is a proud member, is today launching a new publication which provides a comprehensive analysis of the strong potential of gasification technologies to accelerate the Net Zero responsibilities of the European waste, energy, hydrogen and biofuel markets.

Entitled ‘Gasification – A Sustainable Technology for Circular Economies’, the paper has mapped the opportunities of the contribution towards building European circular economies and reducing carbon emissions as part of the EU’s Net Zero roadmap and associated targets – find out more on the subject in our recent Insights article

By generating cleaner energy, biochar and biofuels from biomass and a variety of wastes, gasification, and the clean synthesis gas ‘syngas’ it produces, is a key enabler to decarbonise EU energy consumption. EQTEC’s patented, proven and proprietary Advanced Gasification Technology, and the pure syngas it creates from transforming agriculture, forestry, municipal and industrial wastes is a leading-edge innovation in the global waste-to-energy/biofuels market.

The briefing document is aimed at growing awareness from EU policymakers, media and other stakeholders as to the full potential of gasification as a circular economic model and enabler for realising Net Zero targets.

Our Head of Marketing & Communications, Lisa Artemis, co-authored and co-edited this paper as part of the EBA’s gasification working group, with extensive technical contributions and support from Dr Esther Lorente, Senior Process Engineer and Dr César Berrueco, Chief Process Engineer, in the EQTEC team.
